Vintage Turtleback Tray

This timeless tray, shaped like a turtle, was often passed down through generations as a cherished heirloom, carrying with it both simplicity and significance. 

Weighing a solid 2 kilos, with a sizeable length of 21" , this beautiful piece has been carved by hand. It was traditionally used to mix dough used for making the quintessential Indian chapatis or flat bread. The edges of the tray have been worn smooth and rounded with long use. 

Use it as a platter, a tray or even as a sculptural organic display piece.
