African Hand-Carved Cape Buffalo | Natural stone Figurine

Strong, calm and a little watchful. 

This Cape buffalo was carved by hand by an artisan in Eswatini, the small southern African kingdom known for its wildlife reserves and stone-carving tradition. The Cape buffalo is one of Africa’s Big Five, and here it’s shaped from a single piece of soft grey-green stone, with its broad curved horns, heavy shoulders, carved ears and expressive face.

Natural flecks and mineral markings run through it, so no two pieces are alike, and the one you receive will carry its own pattern.

At about 5 inches long and 250 g, it has real presence on a bookshelf, console, or desk. It feels cool, smooth and solid in the hand. It makes a thoughtful gift for wildlife lovers, travellers, safari enthusiasts and collectors of African art.
