Japanese Kokeshi doll

Japanese Kokeshi dolls are cherished figurines that symbolize good luck and fortune, serving as a protective talisman for homes. For over 150 years, artisans in Japan have meticulously crafted Kokeshi dolls with their distinctive bright colors and with no arms or legs. 

Each doll  is a testament to impeccable craftsmanship and cultural significance. Vibrant colors adorn their wooden bodies, reflecting the distinctive styles of their region of origin. To preserve their unique designs, each doll is carefully coated in wax. Signature markings of their makers are often found on the backs or bases of these hand made dolls.
